Dreamy Shoot from Hell
Lads and lassies, let me tell you a tale of a shoot I did at Utah Lake in the summer of '15.
To start things off, let me get one thing straight. As photographers, we understand that the behind the scenes and the actual act of shooting is rarely as magical as the photos that are produced. Take some of the photos below for example...
What's that beautiful bokeh you ask? Is it snow? Rain droplets? Firework ash? Rihanna's diamonds in the sky? LOLZ, IF ONLY.
Those soft dreamy dots are actually m o s q u i t o s, the worst kind of bug to ever exist in my opinion. A useless insect that its only purpose is to spread disease and make our lives a living hell.
These mosquitos were EVERYWHERE. Thousands and thousands spread across the lake, there was no escaping them. Plus the fact that we had portable lights to light up my gorgey model friend during the night did not help what so ever. Those idiot insects hauled ass over to those LED squares and switched between being mindlessly glued to those lights and feasting on our bodies.
The only temporary relief one of us found from the mosquitos was when Abby submerged her half eaten body into the lake. Continuing on from there, life got a little easier.
To say the least, the 1,238,092,324 mosquito bites between all of us that resulted from this short shoot... were worth it.
