LD Artman, Todd Claflin, Ruth Ann Garner, & Bee Losee
The artists in this exhibition all have Multiple Sclerosis (MS), with a combined diagnosis of 100 years. They are all artists, but within their group there is an architect, a research scientist, a computer scientist, and a landscape architect. It is a mixed media exhibition of watercolors, fused glass, and mosaic glass on glass. When disability (MS – disease) struck and took their practicing chosen careers away, Art gave them another voice, a fresh and different path. Art allowed them through the exploration of new challenges to reinvent, to discover through the unexpected, a life-giving tool that helps counteract a bit of the adversity that MS provides. They see art as a powerful medium that can and will evolve as their abilities change. As a group they believe their expressions in art, allow others to see their abilities; to view them as more than the sum of their losses, other disabilities.
