n June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling on the Loving v. Virginia case held that laws prohibiting interracial marriage violated the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of this landmark civil rights decision with a screening of the film Loving, which tells the story of the plaintiffs in the case. A discussion on the case and film will follow the screening.
